Homework 10/25-10/29

Predicate Noun and Predicate Adjectives

Predicate Noun- a noun that follows a linking verb.  It renames or identifies the subject.
Predicate Adjective- an adjective that follows a linking verb.  It describes, or modifies, the subject.

Ex:
Ms. Wyche is a teacher. (Ms. Wyche is the subject. Teacher is renaming Ms. Wyche. Teacher is the Predicate Noun.

10/25- Lable the underlined word as PN(Predicate Noun) or PA(Predicate Adjective)

1.  The play is a comedy.
2.  The play appears difficult.
3.  The script seems long.
4.  The theater is full.
5.  Anthony is the hero.

10/26- Underline and label the PN or PA in the following sentences.

1.  Ginger is president of the school.
2.  The girls were happy to help me.
3.  My favorite subject is math.
4.  The little child seemed excited.
5.  Helen is my neighbor.

10/27- Underline and label the PN or PA in the following sentences.

1.  Ms. Cheek is imaginative.
2.  Juan Ortiz was the director.
3.  Most sharks have slits on their heads.

10/28-  Create five sentences of your own that have a PN or PA. Make sure you underline and label the PN or PA.
